I want to thank you for contacting me about H.R. 4439, the Tobacco Tax Parity Act of 2010. I appreciate
hearing from you on this issue.

The Tobacco Tax Parity Act would amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to place the same tax rate on pipe
tobacco as is placed on roll-your-own tobacco. H.R. 4439 has been referred to the House Committee on Ways and
Means, where it is pending further consideration. Rest assured that I will keep your views in mind should this
bill come before the full House for a vote.
