Email From Canadian Military Ruins Kids Concert Tickets
As tonight's Avril Lavigne concert in London Ontario gets underway, 300 ticket carrying fans will not be present. This all comes after Avril got her charitable foundation to provide tickets for the local Canadian Military and their families.
Last night they all got an email message from the Military Family Resource Center, the email from Capt. Brad Whipple said:
This opportunity has been cancelled and there will not be any tickets available for the concert.
The Avril Lavigne Foundation was unable to get the tickets to us for the concert at the JLC this Saturday.
However that wasn't true. No one knows why he sent this message. The Ontario Hockey League responded that they had 300 tickets waiting for Capt. Whipple and if it was cancelled, no one had told them. That got families to incorrectly blame the Avril Foundation when clearly the error was the Canadian Military's fault. Many soldiers have children who are Avril fans and they were crushed to hear that they were no longer going. The Military has not yet responded, perhaps they simply found something better to do on a Saturday night than pick up some tickets.
The Avril Foundation is a charity run by Avril Lavigne. It started on September 15, 2010 and focus's on bringing in money for Easter Seals, Make-A-Wish, other charities that help children with disabilities and terminal illnesses. They also sold t-shirts and did other things to help raise money for children living in Japan after the earthquake. Avril will often meet and hang out with sick children and give them cool free stuff. If you would like to donate, the page can be found here, most donated money doesn't get wasted by the Canadian Military.
